The Alphorn, phenomenal for its dimensions, about 4 meters, known mainly for its use in sending signals throughout the Alpine valleys, it evokes memories of the past and faraway places with its unique sound.
After many years as first horn in the Italian RadioTelevision Symphony Orchestra and in the Teatro di San Carlo of Napoli, I dedicate most of my time to promoting the Alphorn and its traditions as well as its contemporary repertoire.
Introducing the Alphorn in the Concert Hall it has been also one of my initiatives, in fact I performed as a soloist with numerous symphony and chamber orchestras in Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Spain and USA.
Therefore, in occasion of the Mozart 250th Birthday Anniversary I played the Alphorn Concert by Leopold Mozart at the prestigious Grosser Saal des Salzburger Mozarteums.
Besides I broadcasted for Italian Radio-TV, RTHK Radio Television Hong Kong, RTV Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Dayton Public Radio - USA and The Lounge San Diego Radio Program - USA.
My repertoire includes many compositions for solo alphorn and string orchestra among which concertos by Leopold Mozart and Ferenc Farkas, and I am also very proud to have inspired well known composers to write music for this rare instrument.
